Lip piercing...unattractive??

Question

i want to get my lip pierced very badly but my mom keeps telling me it is very unattractive. what do you think?

I used to have a lip piercing and from my experience... my lips ripped quite often (but that's probably just me and my activities) and my mouth started to smell of steel (which I do find unattractive)... In the end I just got rid of it. It was fun while it lasted though... so I guess the choice is yours.

It's not my cup of tea but it's really up to you. I had 7 peircings that others found unattractive but I still got them. I have 5 tattoos that some find unattractive but i love them. Do what feels best for you. You can always take it out if you don't like it.

Belly piercings are about as far as I go, thanks. Lip piercings are edgy and punk, but they're distracting and are going to look ridiculous once you get older. They are also unflattering on all but the most striking on people, and make it difficult to be taken seriously (especially if you're applying for a job). I'd give 'em a miss-- maybe you could double-pierce your ears or something a teensy bit tamer...

I think lip piercings are very unattractive. Your mom is right. You don't have to tell her that, though. Just tell her you changed your mind.

depends. i got my labret done and i love it. it goes with every style of clothing, doesn't get in the way of makeup. i forget it's there and if you want it to be cute like a little nose stud, you can put a little jewel labret stud in it and it'll be awesome. i wouldn't get rid of mine for the world except i'm going into the air force and body piercings aren't allowed :(

if i were you, i'd get a labret. some people don't look right with lip rings, and also with a labret, you can buy special labrets that have a little hoop that's attached which curls over your lip from the inside and makes it look like you havea lip ring when you don't. 2 piercings for the price of one.

so yeah. anyway, piercings are awesome. i love'em. don't let any of these narrow minded people get you down or keep you from doing what you want. show your mom pictures of what you really want or even try a compromise..like lip ring or another piercing/tattoo you'd like.

Yeah you may get purple lips actually by potential of honey and suger. Honey moisturizes our dermis and facilitates to produce new dermis cells on our lips dermis. Sugar exfoliates the lifeless dermis cells from lips and makes the lips purple. In a bowl upload a million tsp. of honey and a million tsp of sugar or brown sugar. blend it and rub it on your lips gently. Then go away the mixture on your lips for 10 minutes. Wash it off with cool water and notice the instant magic of purple lips. Do it 2 situations on a daily basis in a month.

first of all, unattractiveness should be in your opinion not your mom whether to get it or not. i mean unless she's saying it to forbid you from getting it. if your opinion is shaped by public view then i'll give you my opinion. i think lip piercing is unattractive. lol. personally, i think, for a girl, ears and belly button piercing is enough. i dont like nose, tongue, or lip. for a guy, i think ears and da eyebrow is enough. yep that's all i have to say!

It really depends... Some people are freaky / kinky like that. But please do think again, just because you want that now, doesn't always mean you'll want the piercing later on in life. Think ahead and then you will know. But based on my opinion, I find it distracting and very unattractive.

i think if you want it, you should go for it. i like them, i think they are cute. i had mine done, but i took it out. i do have to say, i think they are more trouble than they are worth in that it was slightly messing up my teeth and was becoming a major hassle in terms of putting on chapstick, etc. and drinking things from a can. just little things, but there are piercing that are more convenent, such as nose( i have mine), belly botton, eyebrow, mutiple ear, cartilege. but about the unnattractive thing? dont worry about that. what matters is that YOU like it, and it sounds to me like you're pretty set on it. this is what you want. it is you lip, after all. best of luck.
