What should have been a sad moment was hysterically funny when Phil got whacked. His wife went to comfort him and inadvertently left the car in drive. Not only was he killed by a bullet, but his head was squashed like a Halloween pumpkin. One guy drinking a soda, puked it out.

The rest was the most dismal show.

An evil cat ended up having no purpose.

And the ending showed Tony, his wife and son scarfing down onion rings while the daughter had difficulty parking her car.

When the screen went to black, I thought something had happened with the cable service or my TV. Not.

Most disappointing moment I have ever experienced in television.

I bet it means the series will continue.

Phil got whacked. Others are saying Tony got whacked at the end because it suddenly went black and the music stopped and that was what Tony said he thought dying would be like, but that's not my opinion, it is someone else's. Personally, I think it was the most lame episode of ANY series I have ever seen in my LIFE! Shoot, the Friday cliffhangers on the soaps are better than that! What a rip off for all the people who watched for so many years. I stopped watching a long time ago, but just watched the finale because there was nothing else on at the time!

I watched the final episode of Sopranos because well its supposed to be the "best" show on TV period. However, the show seemed to go out with a whimper rather then a roar. The only person who died on screen was Phil, who was ambused by one of Tony's men at a gas station with this wife and 2 infant grand children watching. The SUV (still in drive) slowly drove over dead bodies head. All in all I was horribly disappointed in the show as it seemed to putter along and not accomplish much. And even the very end with the restaurant Tony's family meet at full of suspicious characters the episode ended so abruptly that I thought something had happend to my cable...no Tony, Carmella, AJ and Meadow just had dinner at some diner...that was it. It was perhaps the most disappointing hour of television I've ever witnessed and only am glad I didn't invest years of watching this show only to see it end like this.

In the last episode, Phil Leotardo is killed, while Tony seems to have hidden successfully. He comes out of hiding to spend time with his family in a restaurant in the last few minutes of the final episode. Several suspicious characters enter and Meadow has trouble parking her car. Just as she enters the restaurant, Tony looks up and it dramatically cuts to a silent black screen for a time before the credits are shown, leaving the ending open.

Other viewers have noted that the ending is representative of Tony's ultimate fate: he was whacked and everything just went to black

Tony dies, they dont show it, but they show a guy coming out of the wash room at the end, 1 guy leaving the restaurant aka an accomplice, and meadow runnng into the restaurant frantic, they say when you die from a gunshot to the head you dont hear the pop, and everything gos blank. phil also gets knocked off thank god

It turns out that Adrianna was never murdered. As the Soprano family is munching on onion rings at a diner, she comes in and kills them all!

it ended horribly....Phil was the only one that died (that you saw). Tony it was IMPLIED but we will never know what happened to him or his family.
