Keep talking to him. Tell him that parents are the single most influential people in their lives especially when they are at an early age.

This usually happens to the female side, ie, daughters having fast and smart mouths like their mothers. When someone says that to the mother, she gets very offended. So you get the point.
I would say it takes the teacher or principal of the school to make that comment about a kid's mannerism that is hurting his or her development without tying it to either parent, then the problem will be dealt with directly.

Call him out when he says something smart. My husband and I do this for each other because my 4 yr old picks up on things we mutter under our breath.
Whoops! Still figuring out this mommy thing...

What is he? THICK? If he talks like that then of course the kids will too. Tell him to grow up and set a better example for his kids.

get a tape recorder and record the way he talks. it is easy for him to not belive it when he can't hear him self. then play the tape for him so he can hear just how he sounds..it might just be the shock he needs

you should have a talk to him and explain to him that the children are picking it up from him and he needs to stop. he has no reason to get angry as he is doing this.
