My ex and I split and my daughter is only 3 months old, we have not gone to court yet but I am afraid he will be able to keep her overnight and she is just a baby. Is that legal?

It's not that I "don't trust him" for all you women haters. It's because when I slept in the same bed with him, I know for a fact my daughter can scream bloody murder he he sleeps like a log. I wonder if he can take her out of town that little because thats worse.

Depends on the state you are in. Some states won't allow it if you are breastfeeding.

I dont think so because you don't have a legal or written agreement yet. Most judges won't allow that because the baby is so young..That is way to young to be away from you. Especially since you are nursing. Try talking to a leagal aid or an attorney. Good luck

It is amazing how you change when you have a little one to take care of. I'm sure he will be fine, and he will wake up to change the diapers and feed her. If he doesn't wake, I'm sure the neighbors would be glad to pound on the door until he does. Don't worry, it sound like he wants to be her father, and this relationship is the most important thing in the world for her. Don't chop him off at the knees because it will effect his relationship with his daughter later on. Everyone used to cut me off at the knees, and I still have problems with my daughter respecting my decisions about her welfare.

Without court orders then you dont have to let him...if he is paying support then you will have to allow him if the court says so...what are you afraid of? if you agreed to sleep with him, no there is a child...well if you said he is the father then he has rights too...especially if he is willing to pay the way...be carefull though that if you allow before you are protected by the courts he could take her and keep her and you would have to fight to get her back...aslo he could take off with her and you might never find her...so go to the court and make it legal..or take off yourself and raise her without him....get your family involved to help you...this is not a time for pride...your child comes first...remember that...its no longer about you...

It will depend on what state you are in. Have you seen a lawyer yet? If not, make an appointment with one. Usually, you get the first visit free for a certain amount of time.

He's her father and it is legal for him to keep her over night. The only thing I know of that would impact the time he gets to spend with her (unless you can prove he is unfit to do so) is to be nursing her, the one job he is not equiped to do. If a mother is nursing a baby judges generally try not to disrupt that schedule.

I suppose so unless you have a good reason that you dont want him to.like you are breastfeeding the baby or baby has a medical condition or you think baby is not safe.you can probably get temporary court order.

Aw honey, it is her dad. I know it's hard to be away from her, but don't you want to help her cultivate strong relationships with both parents?

If you're nursing, pump enough bottles for her stay.
