You really need to see a doctor. You may have a muscle sprain or even a disc problem. In the meantime, take 2 advil (ibuprofen) every 4 hours to reduce the pain and inflammation.

I'm not a physician, but I can really highly suggest that you see a doctor, and if you're having pain, tingling or numbness from where you twisted to anywhere below that point, even if it's down to your toes, you should see a doctor very soon. It's possible to have a stable fracture in one of your vertebrae which could become unstable if you just shift your weight the wrong way. If you are in good physical shape, your muscles and ligaments may be stabilizing a fracture that could potentially paralyze you later. The best way to be sure is to check with a physician. The website I've attached has got some good information on the spine as far as basic anatomy and pathology of spinal injury.

Sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. If you still feel bad tomorrow, then you need to have it professionally looked at. I use Advil, myself. That is more of a muscle relaxer and will help with the swelling. Good luck

I've done this a few times. My best results came after seeing a good chiropractor. I've benn using chiropractic services for over 20 years and believe me, they work wonders.

In addition to the two postings above, I'd add ICE -- my doctor always tells me Advil and Ice are my friends!
