Did I miss Something?

Just Meadow walking the street and Blank. I screemed Ah F**K !!!!Not Now, Why Now??. Since I have Direct TV I thought the Signal went out. I switched channels and went back and The credits rolled in. I thought I missed something in that transition.

With those odd looking people glancing at Tony, What happened? Was this the hit of another mob family and were waiting for all four sopranos to be seated that way all four are killed together?

Was the FBI in Undercover protecting Tony or was this an FBI bust on Tony?

That ending sucked. After almost a decade such a show ended this way? So, so, Lame..... This episode is'nt even worth to be a Finale.

Something has to be done with all this anger adding up within everyone.

Wow, looks like man people are going to cancel their subscription to HBO.

The Sopranos was the only reason why I have HBO.
Despite the loose ends that came up, No other Television series will generate such a crowd as this. Nothing else will beat it.

I'v seen this show since I was Twelve. So much has changes around me and much has changes around the showand. It's a weird feeling.

But something has to carry on With the Sopranos after this. Chase will know he angered most of his viewers.

HAHAHAHAHA! The first thing I did after watching was log on to Yahoo Answers to see what everyone else thought!

Yep. Pretty messed up ending. Although with all the speculation that was going on, I thought to myself "Hmmm, wouldn't it be really ****** if Chase just said 'Let's just leave everything up in the air.'"

I had a sneaking suspicion this was how it was going to end. My wife and I were chattering towards the end ... "Meadow is going to walk in just as the family is shot!" "No, wait, it's not the guy that's looking at them, it's going to be a random act of violence!" "No wait ...."

"Awwwwww ****! That's it?!??! That's IT?!?!?!?!"

So what's going on? Is it being left open for a movie? The cast seemed pretty much resolved to moving on with other projects.

I think Chase got lazy. I hate to say that, but there were too many story lines going on. After watching the second-to-the-last episode, I felt the way I felt in high school, the night before a major project was due. I'd rush everything together and hope for the best.

I hate to second guess one of the best TV writers of our time, but that's the way it felt to me. I can't wait to read the reviews in tomorrow's papers.

The writers deliberately left the ending to your imagination. You can believe the guy who was staring at Tony in the restaurant came out of the bathroom and shot Tony while Meadow was entering the restaurant (everything goes black because Tony is dead and you are seeing the final scene through his eyes). Or you can believe that nothing happened and life moves on for the Sopranos.

I was disappointed by the ending, too. However, can we really say we were surprised? There are loose ends from each season that were never wrapped up. For example, the rape of Dr. Melfi in, I think, season 4. There could never be perfect closure for the show. But I agree with you, I wish it was a little more definitive at the end.

But nothing would happen, just a family gathering for dinner at a restaurant. Four people among many.

But then, with a jingle of the bell from the front door opening, Tony looked up, apparently seeing Meadow make her delayed entrance. Or could he have seen something awful, something her certainly deserved, about to come down?

Probably not. Almost certainly a false alarm. But we'll never know. With that, "The Sopranos" cut to black, leaving us nourished after eight years. And flustered. And fated to always wonder what happens next.

The ending was simpy disappointing. You notice the song they chose was Don't Stop Believing... Chase left it up to use to decide whether any of the following prevail 1. man out of the washroom comes out and kills entire family while Meadow walks in and sees this happen 2. Meodow seeing this becomes head of the Family 3. or simply all things end well with his family by his side Regardless of all this as a Die Hard fan, it could not end this way. Chase left it open for a movie or a follow up season just in case Gandolfini changes his mind. Not Right at all. To many issues left hanging. 1) Silvio lives or dies? 2) the Terrorist angle? This is really unfair to all us Fans!!

Ok Tony died....bobby says " i bet you dont even hear it" means tony doesnt know he just goes out bc he is shot...meadow failed parking twice are the two failed attempts on tonys life...then the last successful parking show tony dies......the people in the diner are all from past episode like the kids from the train place where bobby got shot...and the black peole who almost clipped tony...it all connects....its ****** genius…think the cat in some roundabout way was meant to replace Christopher almost, like maybe he had Christopher's spirit. I know that's a stretch. A big reason I feel that way is because he comes to them when Tony is in danger, also because there is tension between the cat and Paulie, like between him and Christopher, but Tony says "He's a good guy".
....tonys died

I thought the same thing to since i have DirecTV, but we recored it on a different TV and the cut to black was the last screen. I'm kind of glad Tony won, he got to kill Phil. I think the FBI guy tipped off Tony, i think they had a understanding even thou it didn 't sound like it when he got out of the car. Either he did it because he had developed a mutual friendship with Tony or he got a payout.

This is so funny because everyone did that. I think that the FBI kinda protected Tony by letting him know where Phil was. It was lame, but it left everyone up to themselves what happened. 1/3 wanted T dead. 1/3 wanted T indicted. And 1/3 wanted Tony's family to be effected. This way EVERYONE Is happy because we DO NOT know what happened.

chase doesn't give a damn. The laast episode [at least in the Diner because he wouldn't take his family to a Diner and make them vulnerable after Phil got killed and the revenge expected] was a dream of tony's then he died in bed from the episode before it that it was an extention from. Too long to explain, but the onion rings were placed in all three mouths WHOLE in the same exact fashion as last communion wafers before they died, or before Tony died. He also imagined Meadow's parking problem so as to delay her from the massacre because she was his favorite. It was all from Tony's perspective. The clues are all there, including the "Dream" song that was playing when he entered the Diner... and the other symbolistic songs he played on the Juke box. and the 2 black guys walking in WERE in Tony's imagination as the same one's who tried to kill him [though one of them HE killed instead, way back] but he imagined them there too as coming back to haunt him & finish the job! [btw, The guy in bathroom didn't have to hide a gun as in Godfather, b/cuz they frisked pacino in GF, but not here in Diner]. Watch it again closely. It's all there.

I have directv too and thought and screamed basically the same thing. Hubby and I looked at eachother like 'whoa, what?! that's IT?!' I really thought there would be more to it than that. I still hate to see it end though, even though I was a little disappointed with the finale.
