I think they left the show as we saw it. Nothing happened. And I don't think it's clever to have people discussing the ending like this...
But for the ones saying he got whacked... that when the screen went black... Tony died... wouldn't our brains still process the sound of the gun shot, even if it was extremely brief?
You heard the door bell chime, something tells me you would pick up on the initial gun blast...
...or would you not process the sound at all?
this would help me disprove or approve of this theory.

they left us with the family all seeming so normal, AJ looked happy eating his onion rings, Meadow is a horrid driver..but looked happy, they seemed the best as a family I can remember

I don't think he got shot in this ending. I think they did have a ending where he got shot as they filmed 3, but is this ending i do not think he got shot. I think you would hear the gun shot if only for a second, especialy if it was close range. The shooter would have been that older guy who went to the bathroom and was coming out so it would have been close range.

I think it's retarded what they did tonight. However, even if you DID hear a gun blast, who's to say how far away it was and it was actually fatal to Tony. He's survived getting shot before ... Who knows? Bullsh*t ending. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I don't think think that anything happened. It just ended strange, waiting for Meadow. I think they wrote it like that because they will bring Tony back in a couple of years or so.

In the first episode of this year when Tony and Bobby where in the canoe, Bobby askes ..what do you think it is like when you die? and Tony answers I dont know but "I bet you dont even hear it" (these are paraphrased but he def said the part in quotes verbatum

I would have preferred some type of clue. It was lame. You didnt know what the heck happened. Maybe they are leaving it up to us to decide in our own minds???
