SO..I have been going out with this girl for about 3 years ...the relationship started when I was in high school and we both ended up going to the same college (by chance) and it ended in the middle of our first year of college. The reason why it ended was because I broke up with her because I had just lost my mom and I was experiencing many emotions. When I went to go get her back she was completely over it. We fought a lot in high school but, we had so many more happy times. She said we fought too much and she didn't want to get hurt anymore. She was my high school sweetheart, we did everything together, we had so much fun, her parents absolutely adore me; I treated her so well; we were in love! Now, its been 6 months and everyday I'm miserable; I can't get her back. she tells me that she will always love me and I'm an amazing boyfriend but, she can't let her guard down around me. I think about her all the time, when I go to sleep-wake up-anything I do. I'm miserable, please help me.

Your question has nothing to do with marriage & divorce. But I can feel your distress, and I'll try to answer your question. Basically, you can't "get her back", she has to want to come back to you. How ? By being as true, loving, patient, and emotionally level as you can be. Then maybe she can feel that she can trust you again, and will let her guard down little by little, as you regain her trust little by little. And even then, there's no guarantee that she'll definitely come back to you.

But one thing's for sure, if you don't do this, she'll never let her guard down, and will definitely not come back to you. Be kind and patient with her. Good luck.

I too lost a parent at about your age and it caused havoc with my relationship too but we got back together and toughed it out. Sometimes, the written word is more effective than trying to talk because you get undivided attention that way. Tell her what you told us and assure her that you're not about to hurt her again and mean it or don't bother. Attach the letter to a bunch of beautiful flowers aand have them delivered to her. If you get no response you should have no trouble understanding it's over. If she does respond, chances are ,you still have a chance.

maybe try and forward this question to her if a guy was willing to put his heart out like this on the internet then I would know he was serious. Also don't push it just be there for her, be her friend again, if it is meant to happen it will. My husband and I were high school sweet hearts, didn't talk for 4 years ran into eachother and a year later we were married. It will work out if it is meant to be.

I'm sorry that you are going through this, but you need to move on. You're only hurting yourself by continuing down this path. It's going to hurt but you need to try to throw yourself back into the world and meet some new people. You will find the right person, apparently she wasn't it.

Yeah I would start to date other girls.....maybe all she needs is a little competition...once she sees other girls are into you then maybe she will be like wait I was just playing a game and I really want to be with him.

You need to go on with your life, it is over with her. Go to all the Collage functions and have a good time. You will meet someone new.
