2000 Expedition, Eddie Bauer. We are getting ready to sell it and I will be detailing it this week. We are fighting over the steering wheel. As someone who pays attention to detail, I think it is better to put a very nice cover on the steering wheel. He thinks steering wheel covers "cheesy". It's not that I am trying to hide anything, I just want everything to look great and the steering wheel looks like it has had 7 years of wear. Opinions anyone?

First looks. If I see a steering wheel half eaten away, and not even a cover over it, has the service even been done properly on the vehicle? Tells me some one doesn't really care. My opinion, but I should think most folks would get the same impression.

That is a common problem with the Expeditions. Most people shopping for a used one will notice most have the same problem. I would purchase a cover that matches the interior color and is not too cheesy. I have known resellers to go through the trouble of replacing the steering wheel when they did not like how the original one looked.

Steering wheel covers do look a bit cheesy but a nice one looks better than a badly worn steering wheel. Either way its not a big deal. Get a low profile flat black non-fuzzy cover and forget about it.

No cheesy covers. It looks like you are trying to hide something and if you are hiding the state of the steering wheel then what else are you trying to hide? It will put some doubt in the buyer's mind.

If the wheel is that bad, then go to a salvage yard and get one that is nicer, if you can find one not damaged. good luck.

Get a nice leather wrapped cover, not one of those chezzy walmart deals, but the one at the detail shop that costs 20.00.

Those will look nice and add the style back to the Eddie Bauer, try to get the closest match to the interior, or go with a black.

After being in a sun heated car, I think the rubber ones start to feel gummy and tacky. The fuzzy ones will look dirty quick if it is a light color. Leather maybe???
