I don't think its' a true addiction, like heroin, cocaine, alcohol, etc., but we do respond to the chance to communicate and that comes back to a very human desire to connect with other people.
Much as happens when we do puzzles, especially crosswords, we love the challenge. We want to answer the question, and we want to have the best answer. We want to accumulate points.
I recently reached level six, after probably eight or nine months of answering and asking questions. As I neared each level, after level two, it became a race for points, and I think that is also something that is natural in us--a desire to compete.
We want the brass ring, the trophy, the gold. We want to be the best. That is human and entirely normal.
Happy answering! (And questioning.)

It is very addictive - I am on this since May 23 2007, and I am already so hooked!! Why? It feels good to help someone with some of your experiences if you can. It also gives us opportunity to meet new people, and this is very important, because it gives us opportunity to learn new stuff!
My husband did not even check what this is and I will not tell him the details, because it can happen that he gets hooked as well and then I would have to share the PC with him :))

It may very well be addiction because I find myself doing the same. Oh well,we all have a vice of some sort, like tv and stuff, but this seems harmless enough and it's great fun.. Right?

People will always crave human interaction, and if they don't want it in person or whatever they can get it like this, also I believe that people love to share their opinions about stuff.
