After reading comments to certain questions (mainly racial, sexual and religious) if come across so many people who are so judgemental about other's beliefs and lifestyles. Why is this? I've seen everything from gay bashing, to Christians passing judgement, to athiests calling believers in God idiots. Please don't post any immature comments. I really want to know why it is so hard to be accepting of all types of HUMANS.

I believe it is a sign of insecurity. Some people can only feel good about themselves by putting someone else down. It is a very immature view on life, but unfortunately we have many immature adults in our society. It did take me some life experience to learn to see the value of every person regardless of how like me or how different they were. God created each of us for a reason. We are each unique and special in his eyes. I love people and learn from them.
It is such a joy when you don't judge but accept. You make more friends, learn more about life....... People are shallow and have somehow come to believe that they are better than others. But they will one day learn, the hard way, that they are not and all the people they judged are just as valuable as they are. Good question. I am anxious to hear more opinions.

It all starts with our individual belief that our view of the world is "right" and everyone else's view is "wrong". When we find someone who is like us, and perhaps share our views of the life and the world, we "like" them. Conversely, when we find someone who is different from us or doesn't share our view, we find things "wrong" with them.

Once we find things wrong with others, those things we find give us license to treat them the way we choose to treat them and supports our belief that it's right that we do so. For instance, if we don't like gay people, well it's only right we should treat them the way gay people ought to be treated. For some, that means ostracizing them; for others that means verbal abuse, or in extreme cases physically harming someone who is gay. Often the people doing these things don't realize they are the cause of pain to another human being. They are doing what is "right" and others should understand and change their ways or adjust their behavior!

Bottom line, there is a fundamental need in humans to act in a manner that is consistent with their perception of life even if it does not produce the results they want in their lives. Most people fail to make the connection between their perception of life and the results their actions actually produce in their lives.

Its easier to blame others for the circumstances in which we find ourselves, than to take responsibility for the choices we made to get there.

Hatred because I am a woman some men hate me or take

I don't get that either! Some people call me crazy because I find Asians attractive, while all my friends do not like them. If I could have one wish, I'd wish that all of the human races and genders could live in peace with each other, and there would be only one race, and it would be called "human".

I agree with u totally! People should worry about themselves and not everyone else around them. Some people are just not educated enough on others and since they aren't they should not speak on it. We are all human and made of the same blood, cells, etc. It is about time for all the hating to stop!

It make people comfortable with the choices they make. People don't like to defend their own choices, many times they don't even know what they made them in the first place. So they bash, look down on people, and anything else to express their ideas without actually having to explain anything.

We fear those who are not like us and we feel that they are judging us if they are not like us. Honestly, people suck a lot of the time and take a certain joy in hurting those who are not like them. By attacking and tearing those who are different down, we (as a society) are really engaged in demonizing and dehumanizing those who are not like us. We do this so we don't feel guilty when we "put them down."

I think it has alot to do with how they are raised. People tend to believe as their family members do (which is sad). As for me, I believe what I want to believe. I'd rather not like a person based on their bad personality rather than what religion they are or what color their skin is or who they have sex with.

It really ISN'T hard. Problem is that most people are literally raised bigots by their parents/pastors etc., whether by religion, race, or whatever else--that mentality is sculpted into them from childhood, and once one's brain is 'wired' that way, it's very hard to undo.

It's sad, really. :/
