Tony didn't necessarily get killed. The writers deliberately left the ending to your imagination. You can believe the guy who was staring at Tony in the restaurant came out of the bathroom and shot Tony while Meadow was entering the restaurant (everything goes black because Tony is dead and you are seeing the final scene through his eyes). Or you can believe that nothing happened and life moves on for the Sopranos.

This series was so well-written that it deserved a place in history with a well-written, well-planned ending. This was a disappointment and a disgrace to the series and the actors.

The ironic thing is that the entire episode appeared to focus on "closure" and yet the dedicated viewers received NO closure whatsoever. What a disappointment!

That still does not excuse the other 45 minutes of nothing.

Why do they have to get all artsy fartsy...We wanted blood and guns and stuff....if I want art I'll watch the sundance channel

Aj did get over Blanca, once you get over the shock of no blood bath, it did have a ending that no one guessed, and I think I read somewhere that the writer said not to expect a neatly wrapped package

I found this on another question and it's perfect:

" The first episode of sopranos Bobby asked what it was like to die and didn't Tony say, "It all goes black"
I can't remember for sure, but maybe that is the answer to everyone's question. "
