Know a good GPS to download and use from laptop?

it is not so much the gps as the software
the microsoft street and trips software is amazingly easy to set up and use - wonder who they bought the product from and renamed it as msofts product
The streets and trips is either sold alone ( often with a rebate) or bundled with a high qualtiy gps
You can buy it or buy a generic gps ( ebay or wherever) and install the microsoft software
There is some standard to watch for - but any gps you will buy from the last number of years will be that standard
