My male guppy's eyes and nose are black. The rest of his body is vibrant blue and his fins are orange. Should I be alarmed that his eyes and nose are black?

Need a little more info from you. How long have you had the fish? Has it always been that color or is the change recent? Did the change in color happen very quickly or did it take days? How old is the tank the fish is in? Has anything happened recently that changed the tank such as a major cleaning or treatment for some other problem?

Please add these details to your question and we can figure out the answer.

Oh, DO NOT treat with an antibiotic. No no case is that a bacterial problem.

if it has recently turned black, then yes, you should be worried.
treat the tank with an anitbacterial medication from your petshop.

if you have only recently gotten this fish it should be treated and in confinement before you added it to the community tank anyway.

if youve had the fish for a while and it has always been this coilour- dont worry, its probably his normal colouring.

If they weren't always black, yes, you should be alarmed. It could be acidosis.
