Several people here have hit it on the head.
Avoid anything with ammonia.
YOU SHOULD KNOW—
Most of what is on the inside of your windshield is petroleum products (plastic fumes are hydrocarbon residue), and if you are prone to using things like Armor-All, the situation gets even worse.
Find a good quality AMMONIA FREE window cleaner, and the first time, it may take you a couple of times to get it clean without streaks.
Like one other post recommended, don't clean the windows in the heat.
Best time is early in the morning, before they have a chance to get hot, and you still have plenty of light to see where you still need to clean.
Once they are clean, avoid the streaking (on the inside) by using a damp towel. Not wet, but just damp enough to be able to tell it is damp. You won't even have to wipe them afterward.
This also goes along way toward eliminating much of the "fog" when it is cool and damp out.

It is normally not the glass cleaner doing the streaking but the paper towels or whatever you are wiping with. Use newspapers and a good glass cleaner and you will get streak free glass everytime.

Yep
BUT, make sure that the windshield is not broiling hot like when it sits in the sun all day........preferrably, do this after the sun starts to set for best results
REGULAR WINDEX AND NEWSPAPER. Depending on how dirty the glass is, you may need to run over it 2 or 3 times for a perfect clean.

use ammonia free windex and wipe the windshield with black and white newspaper. Leaves the glass streak free. Nothing works better than this .

And if all else fails, wax it! Car wax will remove water spots and polish the glass, as it is very mildly abrasive. It doesn't hurt paint, and it won't hurt the windshield. Next time it rains, you won't even need the wipers unless a downpour. And it won't streak, just don't do it in the sun.

Make a solution of 4 caps of white vinegar and 1 cup of water to wash the glass then use black and white newspaper to wipe the glass clean. You can use more vinegar if necessary.
