we have always been omnivores right back through most of our hominid ancestors. Their were two types of australopithecine, for instance, one type had large jaws because they ate grains primarily and needed large molars and strong jaw muscles to grind the grains, the other australopithecine was slighter in size and had a more diverse diet, and it is this australopithecine that was our ancestor. With Homo erectus and Homo habilis came an increased application of tools and now in archaeological sites all types of cut narked bones are found that show that these hominids were consuming meat. One interesting study that is being researched is the use of actualistic studies where modern animals are cut up with stone tools by researchers so that they can try and determine different types of cut marks so that they can become more certain wheather these hominids were hunting or just being oprotunistic. Chimpanzees are actually known to hunt red colubus and Bonobos who live in a much more lush environment tend to be more oportunistic with their meat consumption and occasionaly get lucky and pick off a bush duiker or some other small rodent or bird. So considering our closest relatives are also omnivores it is most likely that our common ancestor and before were also omnivores and consumed meat when given the opportunity.

Prehumans probably started it. Many anthropologists believe that our intellect really began to increase when we became meat eaters because of the huge amount of protein compared to their normal diet of roots, insects, fruits, etc.More than likely their food source began to dry up. They found carrion and tried it. They enjoyed enough to continue to do so. As our species advanced from one form to another some body discovered cooked meat was easier to chew and maybe tasted better (not a carrion eater myself). Of course, this occur ed over thousands of years/\.

I'm not a vegan so eating meat doesn't bother me. Nor should be stop eating it because it is the easiest form of protein to obtain. Vegetarians must make sure that they get enough protein from the non-meat items they eat. Our main problem with meat now is that we eat too much of it and it is loaded with cholesterol. We know how bad that stuff is for us. I can't imagine people not eating meat.

The begining, and we should never stop. Its natural and theres nothing a vegan can tell me that will convince me otherwise.

Something about our k9s prove that humans should not be meat eaters... please save your breath ill never cut meat out of my diet, its my favorite part.

Have you ever seen a healthy looking vegan? They all look like if they tripped they would snap in half. Sorry i dont mean to offend anyone.

Before history was a concept. Stop if you have a reason for stopping (ethical, moral, medical, etc.), decide for yourself. And let others decide for themselves.

It takes someplace contained regionally of 100lbs of grains to offer 1lb of beef. i'm no rocket scientist, yet something tells me 100lbs of nutritious grains could feed much greater human beings than 1lb of beef. yet that statistic applies interior the well-known-day international, and with each and every of the pollutants they pump meat crammed with as we communicate, plus the international nutrition scarcity, i don't understand why human beings nevertheless consume it. in the adventure that your speaking strictly biblically, the bible encourages the intake of particular "sparkling" meats (albeit not interior the parts eaten as we communicate). I actual have Crohns sickness, and somebody gave me a e book (The Makers weight loss software) this is actual a biblically based weight loss software stable for treating this sickness. the author actual cites biblical passages of what meats to consume and what ones to avert. there is no denying in a Christian non secular context that human beings are think to consume meat in accordance to the bible. i in my opinion do not consume it, yet nevertheless, the bible does tell believers they should.
