This season has been pretty stupid with the exception of an episode or two and I kept expecting (hoping) they would make up for it with the finale.... but it absolutely SUCKED! Nothing happened!! It's no wonder they didn't want any spoilers to get out - no one would have watched!
When the screen went black my husband freaked out - he thought someone had hit a button on the remote and he'd missed the end of a show he put seven years into.
But NO - that WAS the end! A BLACK SCREEN! Thank goodness it is FINALLY OVER! It has been dying a slow death for the past couple of seasons anyway! WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

The next episode will give a lot more clues, but I can see it going either way: death or jail - just like Tony always said, those are the two ways out of the business he's in. A guy on another question posed an interesting scenario -- that the show's demise will have something or somehow to do with Meadow dating Patsi Parisi's son - she'll get caught in a crossfire or something. I also think that AR-15 Bobby gave Tony in the first episode of this season will come into play. More people will die, no doubt about it, but contrary to the other answers, I really doubt Phil or any of his crew will kill Tony. That'd be a pretty crappy end to the show. Nah - Phil and his crew will get the s hit end of the stick on this one, with Tony either a.) going to jail b.) somehow dying as well or - hmmm. c.) riding off into the sunset.

All of you "WTF"-ers are such a bunch of unimaginative mainstream morons. The last episode was by no means the "best" one they've ever done (which is what everyone always unfairly expects out of a finale), but it tied up all of the important plot points and left it open to interpretation. Tony could have gotten killed. He could have gone to jail. Meadow could have had inconvenient timing in entering the shop. Who knows...use your imagination. The story...the directing...the acting...the music...it was all fantastic.
And no...I'm not one of those "my favorite can do no wrong" fans. In fact, I hated the first half of the 6th season. In this case, though, for a finale...it was GREAT. All of you wanted a shootout or an actual solid ending (ala GoodFellas). Well life doesn't just end like a movie, and this series in particular was always well known for being close to the real thing. So the ending..."don't stop"...was perfect for the series. Deal with it, stop your whining, and most of all...use your brain. You don't always need everything spelled out for you.

IT SUCKED!!!
The Soprano family all went to dinner together at a little dinner. The feeling was that something bad was going to happen. Meadow was the last to arrive, and as soon as she was walking in the door...
BLACK SCREEN!
Roll credits.
Very disappointing... and left open for something in the future. But, Gandolfini said he was done with Tony.
Booooo!!!

Nothing, the screen just went black. Makes you wonder if they will be making the real ending into a motion picture movie.

Nothing. They went to a restaurant. Meadow had trouble parking her car. There were some suspicious people in the restaurant. Then there were about 10 seconds of blackout. Why? I don't get it.

Nothing, really. They left it to the viewer's imagination to figure out the end. As well, as they left the ending open to the possibility of continuing at some point later on.

The man that went into the bathroom killed Tony as he walked past him. That's why the screen went black. He died instantly from a gunshot to the side of his head
