A falling star is actually a meteor (it becomes a meteorite when it lands). So, if I were a piece of space rubble that had survived the daunting trip through space and then mostly burnt up travelling through the Earth's atmosphere, I think I would like to land in a swimming pool in southern california where I could be quickly found and taken to NASA where I could be examined by sexy scientists and then put on show for generations to come.

I would choose not to land, "I would rather burnout...than to fade away" ...(neil Y.)
..but landing at Fort Knox wouldn't be bad, maybe on the landing I would scatter all the gold aound! But then again, that would start a war, over who grabbed the most.( I guess I;ll stay where I'm at.)
