compare cradle of filth to dimmu borgir

Lyrically, I've always preferred CoF to Dimmu. Dani's lyrics pull more from history and literature and were more appealing to me. Their female backing singer, Sarah Jezebel Deva, is exceptional and is what truly brought me to love CoF. Recently though, Cradle of Filth has lost their appeal. Their last two albums were okay at best. Dimmu Borgir's latest album, In Sorte Diaboli, was a concept album that really flowed in my opinion, and while lyrically it may not have been mind-blowing, was still very well done with outstanding drumming and leading guitars. In concert, Dimmu gives a much better performance and their set lists have been MUCH better. While it saddens me to say it, when speaking of the future I doubt that CoF will continue to be included in my list of favorite bands; Dimmu may just take their place.

well as far as im concerned Cradle is Black metal and Dimmu is Death Metal. so accordingly (too pull a line from the D) they both pull out monster mamajams

Dimmu is slightly heavier and harder, but Cradle has some good riffs...like Nymphetamine, for example

Filth suck had the mis-fotune of caghting them at ozzfest 2001 (uk)

They are both good. I can't really choose who's better.
