The best oil is AMSOIL. www.amsoil.com
The best filter is the by pass filter sold by amsoil.
https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/bf.aspx

The amsoil by-pass filter is used along with the oil filter your car already uses. The Amsoil web site also sells Wix filters to replace the standard oil filter. The web site specifies an oil change interval of 60,000 miles per oil change when using amsoil and the by-pass filter.

The next best thing would be using Mobil1 synthetic oil with a Mobile 1 filter. I use Mobile1 synthetic and I change my oil every 3,000 miles. Thats how long it takes for my oil to look dirty.
I spend about 700 dollars on oil changes every 60,000 miles using this method (91 Accord). It would probably be cheaper and better for me to use AMSoil and the by-pass filter.

I prefer brand name like Fram, etc., and will use a little longer filter if room permits. It just gives you more filtering over the 3000-5000 mile interval.
On my V-8's I always use the longer version of the same size filter. The factory always recommends the shorter one.
You may need to add a little more oil in the beginning to get it up to the full mark after running a bit then rechecking the level.
Oil never really wears out, it just gets so dirty from all the contaminants that manage to get into your crankcase, from dirt to metals, etc.

Oil filters are all the same. But some people won't touch anything but Mobil 1 and k&n but they usually cost about 1.5-2x the regular filters.

For Acuras, I recommend DENSO, Purolator PureONE, Acura/Honda, and Wix/NAPA oil filters.
