Dan Haren. He has been great this year. and also if you guys say he played such bad teams, then why doesnt anyone else have an era like that. He cant be the only pitcher thats played bad teams. Obviously he is good this year weather you like it or not. and if he can continue this he will win the cy young award. Lackey for example has won maybe 2 games against good teams, Boston and New York. becket about the same. so you cant give an excuse hes played bad teams, cause Becket and Lackey have played almost the same amount of teams that are good as Haren.

Dan Haren deserves it but I think Josh Beckett or John Lackey will win it. Haren plays for a team that gives him little run support, and still manages to be in the wins leaders, why? Because the guys ERA is almost untouchable this season, he's learned to pitch will very little support much like Jake Peavy in the NL.

At this point, it's Haren... and it's not just because I'm an A's fan (hey, if the Angels fans can say Lackey...).

It's just a shame that Cy Young is based on the number of wins a starter accumulates. Case in point, Bartolo Colon beating Johan Santana in 2005 when Santana had a better season than Colon, except in wins and walks.

If Haren were on the Sox or the Yankees, many folks would have been on his jock a couple weeks ago because the Eastern Seaboard Propaganda Network would have promoted the hell out of Dan Haren.

At the begining of the season, i thought Dice-K or Johan Santana. However now i think Dan Haren, Josh Beckett or John Lackey. C.C. Sabathia also has a chance.

I'm not sold on Haren yet. If you look at his starts the only team with a winning record he has pitched against is Boston and he got a ND although he pitched well. I expect a spike to his ERA once he faces the Angels, Yankees, Tigers, Mariners, Indians, or other good hitting teams.

I really like what Beckett has done and he has done it against better hitting clubs than Haren.

Dan Haren will definitely win it if he somehow manages to keep a sub 2 era for the whole year, he is the front runner, with beckett but i will say by the end of the year it will be C.C. Sabathia, he will be pitching in a penant race all year and he gets more k's.

American League Cy Young: Every year for the foreseeable future, this award is Johan Santana’s to lose. The Minnesota ace is plain filthy with all of his pitches and his dedication to the craft can be seen in his intelligence of the league and the excellent shape he keeps himself in. Santana will no doubt go on another streak this year where he doesn’t lose for two months and this will carry him for 23 wins and a sub 2.50 ERA. if not santana there's always beckett

I guess Josh Beckett has to lose before you can give the award to anyone else. Don't count out Jeremy Bonderman on Detroit. Haren has also pitched out of his mind. But if they gave the award today it would have to be Beckett.

If the season ended today I would say Beckett without a doubt...so if he keeps up a pace close to his current one I say Beckett.

Josh Beckett if he keeps it up, John Lackey second choice.
