Wake up to what? Coming from a family where both parents worked in government, I often find the public has an amazingly short memory regarding their own foolishness.
It's like watching a group of park visitors constantly kibbitzing a game, complaining about how stupid the two players are, how they don't know how to jump properly, forget to king their pieces, keep moving the wrong way by going horizontally or vertically, and have a cruddy board and pieces to play with.
The two players (government) just shake their head and keep playing...
...chess.

Never if all people do is moan about thing and don't do anything positive or constructive to change the way they operate.
Politicians respond, they are supposed to carry out the wishes of the people, but that is still responding. They do not seem to have the capacity to be original, positive and inventive, (except when using spin).
So stop moaning and come up with more creative and positive questions, or are you a politician?

the only way to do that is fire them if they dont do a good job. it is possible, but the general public has to wake up first. these people are not monitored and can do anything they want and they do. our system is a disgrace, and the people in office are spitting on the graves of every person who died to keep this country from becoming what it is now.

If you mean act in a selfless manner by trying to better our country while not pandering to get votes, then N-E-V-E-R.
If you mean manipulate the election process, the media, and the public, all while taking in the big bucks from corporate donors, then they already have.

Nope, never gonna happen. They're all on sleeping tablets. When they do happen to wake up they think they've arrived in a nightmare and go back to sleep to escape it.

They have never been asleep! They don't listen to the voters. Neither party seems to get it, but that is because there are hidden agendas. Doing what is right for our Nation is not on their agenda.
