I have a beta fish, and I keep him in a glass bowl without a pump or heater. On the back of it I always turn on a lavalamp for 12 hours a day and turn it off at night. It actually likes it and I have him since about 2 months and he is well.
Roomtemperature is very good and ok for him.
You need to buy beta ready for your water, it's really inexpensive. I feed him beta pellets once a day
And I also keep a reall plant in with him, gives him some oxygen.

relatively the widely held thought that bettas like small bowls is a fantasy. i comprehend a great form of individuals say basically the alternative, yet you're marvelous, he might like some room. think of approximately it this way, in case you may % between residing in a closet (that's additionally crammed at the same time with your own waste) or having a great residing house to your self, which might you %? confident, they are able to "stay to tell the story" in a bowl each from time to time, yet in the right placing he will thrive. while you're seeking to get him a sparkling bowl, get him a 5 or 10 gallon aquarium with a clear out and heater as a substitute. 10 gallon tanks are often with regards to the comparable cost or extra fee-effective than maximum glass fish bowls... and because bettas do not probable like speedy shifting currents, you may in all probability get with the aid of with a affordable sponge clear out. he would be far extra lively and extra exciting to show screen too. As for temperature, you will in all probability prefer to maintain it in the extreme 70's.

Get the octagon shaped mini-tank from Wal-Mart or Petsmart. It comes ready with filter, air, and maybe some plants. Those things are great if you can't determine what temp for your betas, because the overhead light thing distributes a good stream of warmth. Just don't keep the light on all night, because it burns the plastic top.
The cost is average $20

The ideal temperature is close to 80 F. Betta's are tropical fish and need to be in warmer water.

I have a betta fish myself - room temperature is the best for a betta. It might be a good idea to get water treatment for your tank or bowl, it's relatively inexpensive and it makes the water habitable for the fish.
