Are newsagencies common throughout the United States let alone found in the country at all?

Living my whole life in Australia, I was very surprised to see the lack of newsagencies in the USA on my recent trip. My uncle from Virginia said that there just isn't the concept of newsagencies in America, although I did eventually come across just one in Washington DC. So are there many newsagencies near you or any that you know of? Thanks.

By the way I don't mean newspaper companies, I'm talking about individual stores that may be called like NewsExpress and sell a variety of newspapers, magazines, birthday cards, stationary, etc.

There are a handful. Here in NYC we have Hudson News.

They tend to be in lager towns or cities or at a large transportation hub (airports, train stations, etc)

Largely though, the newspapers and magazines are purchased at the local stationary, grocer, deli, etc.

Yes, there are many news agencies all over the USA. Are you asking about TV stations, radio stations. newspaper agencies, magazines? Or, do you mean them as an all in one type thing? We have national TV stations, local TV stations, cable TV stations, national radio stations, local radio stations, cable radio stations, national newspapers, local newspapers, magazine publishers. They are not all under the same roof, but they do exist. My daughter-in law lives in Virginia and she works publishing a local news show. In Washington DC, our Nations Capital, where our President sits, there are lots of news agencies.

if you're talking about newspaper agencies, every major US city has at least 1 or 2, Denver has 2 major newspapers.

We have them. Two big ones are Reuters and the Associated Press.
Both are pretty much dominated by liberals.
