watch them like a hawk

As long as they were registered, I'd just make sure that anyone in the neighborhood with children knew that a sex offender was living in the area. I might research to find out the nature and severity of the crime...if it was too terrible I might relocate.

I would let them be. You never really know the whole story. Did you know you can get on the sex offender list for peeing in public? Or maybe they dated someone who was 17 when they were 19 or something, and the girl pressed charges when they broke up. I wouldn't judge them unless they did something that changed my opinion of them.

I just wanted to add that I don't have kids, and if I did it might change my answer.

It's illegal to take any personal action off the basis of opinion, not protection, against someone or their family if they are a registered sex offender. Even if you just knock on their door and make a threat that if they ever do anything, you can be arrested and charged. Harassment is harassment.

So I wouldn't do anything unless they did to anyone I care about.

about a year ago, i moved into a new neighborhood...and just for kicks I looked up the site for registered sex offenders and discoverer there are about 8 in a ten mile radius from my home it gave names and exact crimes and even addresses. it scared the crap out of me. so i am just cautious, but i just leave them be,,,but i did buy extra supper-duper locks for every door and window..i figure they did their time and pray they learned a lesson..i refuse to leave my lovly home for it though,

One moved into a house at the other end of my town (you can drive from one end to the other in 5 minutes) and there was a lot of sh!t stirred up... the news people were here and there were town meetings..... needless to say he doesn't live here anymore... he was gone in less than 12 hours.... people were serious when they said they would burn down his house....

Let them be. They have done their time for their sin. They deserve to have a life of their own now. But if they do they same thing over and over again, then I would say it is time for some harrassment!

Let them be, nothin' I can or should do to them, no matter how much it disgusts me. Unfortunately I'd have to be outside more watching the kids like a hawk.

I guess I would live and let live. If I saw anything strange I wouldn't hesitate to call the police though.

One does. We've lived here for ten years though and he has too, and nothing has ever happened. We just found out about him and my sisters are scared to walk past his house now. I could care less as long as he doesn't try to talk to me.
