i can't quite understand what the emotion is?

Though the things we do may be small, they are a reason for us to have lived. I agree completely with her.

The theme is that even doing the smallest things mean a lot and make life worth living.

If she can help one person or stop their pain she has lived a full life or a purposeful life.

She is displaying compassion and empathy.

I think she is saying if she can give of herself for any reason-big or small- her life will have had worth.
