at the church what happens? What do the guests do ? and do they wear the same clothes that are worn later during the party?

secondly at the part what is considered appropriate and what are the things I must avoid doing ? The bride is a good friend can I just wear a nice light pink dress (not very night-glamorous) and some shiny accessories is that fine ? Or do I have to wear something catchy ?

Finally, I wanna buy her a gift but I don't know when to give it to her (I was out of town when she did the bridal shower)

The groom's family and friends sit on the right inside the church the bride's family sit on the left, after the nuptials they all mingle of course. Yes your dress sounds fine, with accessories too --if your dress is sleeveless; you might want to wear a shawl over your shoulders in church, but it is not mandatory.. Send your gift to her house before the wedding. Yes everyone wears the same clothes all day. Have a good time.

1. Yes the guests will wear the same clothes for both the wedding and the reception after.
2. As far as appropriate behavior, just be polite and you will be ok. It sound as if your pink dress will be fine. Most people attend a wedding in clothes that they would wear to a nice dinner. Nothing too fancy is required.
3. Mose people bring the gift to the party after and set it on a table that is set up for that purpose. If for some reason they have made other arrangements for the gifts just poitely ask the mother of the bride where you should place you gift. She useally will be highly involved in the wedding planns and will know what you should do. Hope this helps.

at the church the guests just sit and listen except when the bride enters. then it's customary to stand until she reaches the altar or the reverand tells you to sit. you will usually be asked by an usher if you are a friend of the bride or groom and he will escort you to your seat. after they leave the church everyone else files out and possibly to a receiving line were you offer them congrats. your pink dress is fine for church and the reception. no need to change unless you want to. don't wear anything flashy or white. it takes away from the bride. if you chose to buy a gift, there will be a table at the reception where you can place it. if you wish to give a card with money, hand it to the bride. she will probably have a bag for them. relax and have fun.

As a gift you can give her a painting... find out what she loves, or something really cool that will be nice as a painting.

ex: her pet, painting of herself etc.

Send the pic to http://www.paintyourlife.com/ so they make your painting.
