Memoirs of a Geisha. I hate when I fall in love with a good book, because it ends up consuming me for a time. It was just, it was just... SUCH AN ENTERTAINING READ! Very quick, and cativating, it literally kept my attention the whole way through, which is quite a feat.

Any way, the purpose of this post is simple. I'm asking for recommendations on books about geisha OR the Japanese culture in general, fiction or otherwise. Feed me. *slobbers*

I reccomend Tale of the Genji by Murasaki Shikibu. It's actually the first novel ever written and is based on the real house of the Genji, a fuedal family in Japan.

Of course, that won't help with modern culture... but Memoirs of a Geisha wasn't modern either...
