I think with the addition of Roger Clemens They might make the wild card but i wouldnt get my hopes about them winning their division but there is a possibility

they are starting to pick it up, but time will tell if they can keep that stride. i don't personally think that roger clemens will be their "savior," as just the mere chance of winning 1 more out of 5 games won't do much for them, and he'll lose on occasion, although rarely.
basically, the entire team needs to step it up, and abreu needs to pick it up otherwise he's gone by the trading deadline. pitching, especially relief, needs work as well. part of the reason they've gained so much ground is that the red sox have been slumping, and playing atypically. if they were playing like normal, the yankees wouldn't be 9.5 back.
i do, however, think that they might, maybe be able to nab the wild card, because there's no way they'll take the division at this point.

If they got to play the Pirates every day, they'd keep it up. Unfortunately in the A.L. there's too many good teams with good lineups and the Yanks are in just too deep of a hole. It sure would be great to see, but I'm not counting on it. That rotation is just too shaky, and since they are all (except Wang) 5-6 inning pitchers, their bullpen is going to be in shambles by the end of the year.

Red Sox fans will sound in with a resounding NO!.
But I believe the Yanks will make the playoffs as at least a wildcard, if not the division

yes they can, they have always shown their resilience and there is no reason that wont keep on showing it this season.
