With a 19mm or 3/4" combination wrench, loosen the radiator drain petcock on the lower/passenger side of the radiator to drain just enough coolant that it won't make a mess when you remove the T-stat housing. Using a 5/16" socket and suitably sized extension and ratchet, remove the three power steering pump reservoir bolts that secure it to the bracket on the driver side top of engine. Remove the one 5/16" bolt that secures the bracket to the top of the T-stat housing. Remove the two 10mm long bolts that secure the T-stat housing to the intake manifold through to left bank cylinder head, for access to the thermostat. Reverse the described steps for installation. Refill system with a 50/50 mix of coolant and water. Hope this helps.

drain some coolant out of the radiator using a 19 mm box wrench loosen the petcock drain on the passenger side of the radiator. remove the upper radiator hose clamp using pliers then twist and pull hose back sometimes you will need to get up underneath the hose with a pick or screwdriver carefully do not damage the hose! remove the t-stat housing bolts make sure the new t-stat is an OE t-stat (FORD) only also the spring goes towards the engine not the housing pay attention when removing the housing as to how the old t-stat is positioned the bleed valve of the t-stat usually faces 12 o'clock there also may be a tab on the t-stat that needs to go in the slot on the t-stat housing I've seen it both ways on these expeditions.make sure the t-stat does not move out of its slot otherwise you chance busting the housing ear or worse yet a leak! the most important part is filling fill it then start it put heater on low floor the cap should be off top off the coolant as need gl2u.make sure its blowing hot air drive it with cap on the recheck level and top off as necessary you may have to take cap off slowly see if the level goes down then fill to the hot fill level.I'm gonna have to call you on this one FORD GIRL I looked in the shop manual just out of curiosity and Nowhere in the(FORD) shop manual does it say anything about removing the power steering reservoir or bracket.

follow the top radiator hose, this will lead you to the T-stat, drain coolant from system, hopefully the radiator drain ain't stuck, catch as much coolant as you can in a drain pan, loosen the bolt's on the T-stat housing, remove old T-stat and any gasket material, clean all mating surfaces, install new T-stat and reverse the procedure, easy peazy

just follow the hose from the top of the radiator back to the the engine and the piece the hose connects to will have to be removed the thermostat will be inside that casting, make sure you don't put the new one in backwards or you will be doing it over.

Drain coolant.
Remove bolts on thermostat housing.
Replace T-stat, and gasket.
Reinstall housing.
Refill cooling system.

Pretty basic.
