His death is hard for me to talk about, because I'm an avid animal lover. When he died I ached for the innocent animals he left behind. He was their best friend. I'm glad his daughter has rebounded after such a heavy loss. Steve was killed by a stingray when he was shooting a documentary regarding Australia's deadliest animals. He was a hero, a true lover of all animals. I still can't believe he's gone.

A stingray's tail pierced his chest, and hit his heart. Steve was swimming above one and it probably got startled and used its only defense mechanism. Its a rare thing to have happen, unfortunately he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Normally a stingray sting would not kill you, it just happened to be his heart that got injured.

It was a stingray. The stingrays tail went through his heart and kiled him. He was also called The Crocodile Hunter.
