P.S. ~ I've had my thyroid checked and been tested for diabetes... I have also been tested for ADHD but everything came back negative. They have done brain scans and tests but nothing abnormal.

I also forgot to add that I have been to 6 different doctors in all different specialties and no one can figure out what's wrong

It could be thyroid, or a serious intestinal disorder. You need to get another opinion. I would seek out a naturopathic physician. They tend to look at the cause of the problem and not the symptoms.

Have you ever heard of Jordin Rubin? Your story sounds remarkably similar to his.

You have something called a thyroid gland in your neck that regulates your metabolism, or how fast you burn off what you eat.

When you are eating a ton and not sleeping, that should be the first thing that your doctor checks.

With a blood test, they can test what are called T3, T4, and TSH ( thyroid stimulating hormone ) . The doctor should check all three.

Sometimes though it is the pituitary gland in your brain that is damaged and causing problems with your thyroid. That has to be checked another way.

In addition to that, you could have diabetes.

My first guess ( if you are not eating and vomiting up what you eat on purpose ( called bullimia ) is your thyroid.

Or you could have a combination of thyroid, diabetes and ADHD.

As you progress in school if you have adhd, your grades will get worse. People with adhd tend to have problems organizing, among other things. As school gets tougher from elementary school to high school, organizational skills need to improve. People with adhd have a hard time adjusting to the increased need for organization as they go through school.

By the way, I am adhd and my mother and grandmother had problems with their thyroid glands.

And, my aunt is assistant chief of a department for kaiser ( she is a doctor ) .

Hope that helps....

Since you just said they did brain scans... did they specifically look at your pituitary gland ?

Are you eating ? If so how many calories on average a day ?

Are you eating and then vomiting ?

Are you using any illegal drugs ( marijuana / ecstasy / heroin / methamphetamine ) ever ?

Do you have any pain ?

What happens when you attempt to sleep ? Do you have tons of thoughts ( racing thoughts ) and therefore cannot sleep ?....

Do you find it difficult to make choices in daily life ?

How did they test you for adhd ? Was it a one time visit or several visits ? Was the testing done by someone that specializes in adhd ?

Oh and have you seen an ENDOCRONOLOGIST ( sp ? ) ????

Have you had an EKG ( a test on your heart ? )

Have they done an EEG ( electro encepholograph ( sp ? ) where they stick electrodes on your head ?.....

Did the doctor test your estrogen levels ?????

Any time you are that tired, your metabolism is dropping.
Get The Step, put it by your bed. Walmart and Target sells it. When you wake up, and before you go to bed, step up and down for 5-15 minutes, each day. This will push your metabolism back up again. And be sure to get 8 hours of sleep every night.

I agree with some of the other answers but have you been tested for parasites? I had a friend in school who went swimming in the Rio Grande and got a parasite. His symptoms were a lot like yours.

You drink way too much caffeine?
Your thyroid is producing too much thyroid hormone? Did they test for that?
Stress?
Medicines you take?
Diabetes? They probably did test for that. I hope.
Definitely no caffeine!

sounds like it could be hyper-thyroid disease, and its something not all doctors think to check when running blood tests, and it is a very serious disease, and can only be treated with medicines, have your doctors do a more in depth blood test and check for virus's and hyper-thyroid disease,

Have you been tested for diabetes? Seek another doctor. Search Dr. Arlene Meyers. She's awesome. See if you can ask her for any suggestions. :-)
