I prefer no inquires into my reasons or personal life on this. I want to know if castration will alleviate my desires for dating and well mating. The current direction of my life requires this, and if castration will help I’d definitely look into it.

Since you prefer to keep your reasons private, there's no way to determine whether or not castration is "for you". However, here's some info that may be useful.

"At first, a man who has been castrated will still have a sexual urge. Over time, however, because he's no longer producing testosterone, he'll lose much of his libido or sexual desire. Medications can readjust the chemicals in his blood and bring back some sexual desire. Studies have also been done that show with increased stimulation, a castrated man can actually get an erection, have sex, and orgasm (although he won't have any sperm in his ejaculate, which would be minimal in volume)."

Castration or an Oriectomy would cost you thousands of dollars and you need a psychiatrist to write you a recommendation.
An easier and cheaper way to achieve the same results is to take 100 mg of Aldactone a day. You just need to talk a Doctor into prescribing it (your physician, a psychiatrist, a urologist or an endocrinologist) they are all more likely to do this because it is not permanent.
Another posibility is to take estrogen but it will take you a while to feel its effects.

I am quite certain that you will regret it over time if you do this. I don't know if you can actually have this done legitimately. I think altering your body in such a way is dangerous... perhaps you should see a therapist to talk this through, afterall this is an irreversible decision not to be taken lightly, so you should get more perspectives on this and perhaps help understand why you have this need for castration.

Castration is the removal of your testicles and/or your penis! If your thinking of doing this to quell sexual desires, think again! Your brain is the biggest and most powerful sexual organ you have, why don't you consider having that removed as well?
What ever your reasons for considering this, are you so weak minded that you can not control your own wants and desires?
If your considering doing it cause you are joining the priesthood, then that would be cheating! A priest takes a vow of abstinence as a sign of his commitment to the Lord, if you do it by castration, then you are cheating! All the other priests must deal with their urges on a daily basis, why should you be any different?

The Howard Journal of Criminal Justice in the February, 2007 issue offers interesting data from England and Wales on the effects of chemical castration on the libido. The answer, as with many things is "it depends." Here is the link:

If your a child molester then heck yeah...chop it off. If your going to do it for religious reasons...then you need to weigh the pros and cons of the whole situation. You can just take pills to decrease your desires...don't you think that might be a better and less painful situation?

wow seems pretty selfless of you, for whatever reason it is. i dont think u should do it, u could really regret it or it might cause u to have emotional problems..like if i woke up every morning without an important part of me that i've had for all my life, it would def. effect me.
ask a priest or something.
