I applied to transfer a week after the Fall 2007 deadline in April because of the Virginia Tech shootings. I love VT, but I can't handle the emotions of remaining a Hokie. The admissions office says late applications are reviewed on a space-available basis.

For those who have been through this process with NCSU, when will I receive a decision?

For any college in the US, there is no set date for a response. Generally, though, the acceptance letters are out first, then the denials, then, eventually the late applicants of either choice.
I know this was a very difficult event for everyone there, but have you thought that maybe you might gain some personal strength by returning to VT, and learning to deal with the feelings you have? That is true for most of us.
