sand paper or a belt sander if you have no elbow grease let

First try car wax and a damp cloth,next try some transmission fluid.Try both of these on the under side where no one can see.put little on at first,and see what happens.If both fail,the gasoline,again out of view and a little spot at first.If clouding appears,then stop. You should be OK

Very fine steel wool, and elbow grease.
