Do you ever use this service? If so, how do you do the transaction once your item has been sold? By cash meeting the buyer in person? or ?? What is the most common way?

meeting the person face to face in or around your area, just be sure and maybe speak to the person threw phone first..post an item and wait for people to email you on it.

I have made thousands of dollars off Craigslist. It is primarily made as an online LOCAL classifieds website, however I have sold items (based on trust and common sense) to other states through UPS, fortunately everything has gone very well. I only accept cash (even when selling a car) or a cashiers check from a major bank, I make sure to write a bill of sale for everything, I have every signature notarized and I only conclude a business transaction from inside a bank.
hope this helps : )

I just sold a boat on Craigslist. There was no fee for listing and I had over a half dozen interested replies in the first day of the listing.

The buyer came to look at the boat, liked it, and we did the paperwork and financial transaction in person!

I listed it on Tuesday, and it was sold on Wednesday.

Craigslist has local listings, so most transactions can be done in person!!
