i have a fancy goldfish, and i'm ont sure if it is a female or male. on the beginning of where Cashew's ( the name) tail starts, the place where it is connected to the body, it looks like someone tore the skin. it lives alone in a tank, but cashews skin body looks like its torn in half almost ! like, bacteria is eating it's skin or something T_T.
please tell me, what is this. and how can i heal cashew ??

actually it's not really the skin. it's the flesh and i think that it's getting worse.

If it's just the skin and not really into his flesh then it will grow back ok without any real problems. If it looks like a tear into his muscles it's a more serious problem but should still heal.

All of that does assume it's a tear of some sort caused by physical damage. If it's a bacterial problem, you will need to treat with an antibiotic like Marcyn 2 or Maracyn TC.

If it's not getting worse and just looks like a tear the best thing for you to do is keep his tank really, really clean so that it doesn't get infected while it heals.

This sounds like tail/fin rot. Can be caused by poor water conditions or a bacterial infection. Check the water quality. If The levels are off, please do a 40% water change immediately and proceed to do 10-20% every other day until the levels stabilize. If this is the case, he would also probably benefit from some aquarium salt being added to the water.

If the water quality is fine, then Cashew probably has a bacterial infection and you need to get an antibiotic treatment for him.
