No, and if he does it, it's three bases for everyone! The ball stays live. From Major League Baseball's Official Rules:

7.05
Each runner including the batter-runner may, without liability to be put out, advance --
(b) Three bases, if a fielder deliberately touches a fair ball with his cap, mask or any part of his uniform detached from its proper place on his person. The ball is in play and the batter may advance to home base at his peril;

One may catch a ball with a glove or a hand, "providing he does not use his cap, protector, pocket or any other part of his uniform in getting possession." That's from the definition of "CATCH" in Rule 2.00.

No. In fact, doing such a thing will enable all base runners to score and the batter-runner to be awarded third. The ball remains live and the batter-runner can try for home, at his own peril. He'll get credit for a triple.

Sure, I mean David Wright (Mets third base) had caught a pop up with his bare hand last year. I think it will be much safer to use a cap. However, it would be a joke if someone attempt to do it and does not prevail...
