Think about it--how would a chicken eat or drink or think with no brain/head/beak?
PS Look in the internet about a rooster named Mike who lived without a head and was shown in Life magazine (so he story says). There is also a picture of Mike.

Actually yes. There was a case of a farmer who, when chopping off a chickens head, missed his mark and left enough of the brain stem so that the chicken's autonomic systems functioned. It was alive, and had to be fed through a tube, into its oesophagus. It survived for 18 months before choking, I think.

I chicken can't even live 5 seconds with no head...

If you're talking about a chicken running around with it's head cut off. It's not alive or anything. That's just randomly firing nerves going off in the dead chicken's body.
