some people say that travelling at the speed of light away from earth den going back to earth will mean that 1000s of years will have passed by the time you get back . however wudnt this just means that by the time you get back only 1 second wil have passed since your traveling extremly fast ?

I don't know about traveling through time, but I can safely say that there will never be a time machine.I have given this years of thought and here is my conclusion:
Someone would take that machine back in time and give his grandfather the plans so that his family would be rich. Someone else would do the same thing and give it to his grandfather even earlier so that they would have inveted it; and thus it goes an infinite repition of greed.
Uncontrolled time travel may, however, be possible.

Okay, think of our solar system. There are eight planets and the sun, right? Imagine that they're all just going around in orbit like they're on a table: it's flat. Now, imagine that they're orbiting in something more rounded, like a bowl. The planets will act like those penny tables at museums that you sometimes see: they'll be more elliptical and will go up and down, out and in. That's what time travel is like. If you bend space and time enough, you can travel through time. So to an extent, that's what's happening when light enters a black hole. Time travel. I hope this helped!

You can't physically go back in time, but you can see events from time past by looking at the night sky because light travels at a constant rate of speed and stellar object are at a tremendously long distant from us. But that's about all. Just looking at beautiful objects as they appeared a long, long time ago and wondering what they look like in real time.Other than that, you can't go back. And because the future hasn't happened yet, you can't go there ether. Sorry.

What time travel?
By the way, the paradoxes of time travel would not exist, if time travel were remotely feasible.
The only kind is metaphysical, by reading history and biography, or imagining the future.
