I don't think it is. Unless it's something like you sprinkle them in your bed or you keep them on display. If your pet was very dear to you, it's fine to keep his or her ashes in your home, as long as it's somewhere safe and private ( as in, not sitting on your kitchen counter in a shoe box). If you ever feel weird about it or don't want to keep them anymore, you could sprinkle them on his or her favorite outdoor playing or sleeping place. Or you could sprinkle them in a river, and know that he or she will be in the rivers of life forever. (Corny I know lol) Hope that helps. (by the way, my mom has a tiny box of my aunts ashes, because my cousin did the ceremony without us there at all, so my mom wants to keep a part of her sister. its in her room in a tiny ring sized box. not creepy at all to me =) it's something to remember my aunt by, you know? )

No...I don't think it is. When My Golden R dies I'm going to keep her ashes. When my Boxer dies I'm going to have her stuffed. Those are 2 of my most prised posetions. My boxer is young. I havent even had her for a year yet but I know she is a year old. My Golden R is....9 years old. Her belly is all big from how many litters shes had. I love my pets dearly and If you have your pets ashes I'm proud of you because some people just can't take it. It also showes that you cared deeply for them and still do.

Of course not!!! If you love your pet, keeping their ashes would be showing that to others! Weird to type... but-- we still have my mom's ashes. It's different, but keeping your pet's ashes proves to people that you don't have the heart to toss them out to the world. It's perfectly fine in my eyes!

Well, I'm not sure. It would be a odd way to remember your pet, but there are worse things. At my step-grandfather's farm they used to have a cat. Well, after it died he took it to a taxidermist and now it is stuffed sitting on a shelf. I think keeping ashes is a LOT better then that.

I don't think it's gross at all. I've heard of a lot of people do this. Sometimes they keep them in a urn while others have them fired into a clay figure of their pet. Do whatever makes you feel better and helps the grieving process.

no, it's not any more gross than people who keep their relatives ashes. My mom has the ashes of one of our cats and one of our dogs sitting in our garage, in the hopes that one day she will spread them out in the garden.

No my friend kept her cats ashes in an earn. It's not like a main feauture that everyone sees as soon as they enter the house, its just in her room, with a couple of pictures.
My grandmother kept her cat too, but she was crazy and the bloody thing was woshipped, and it was the nastiest cat ever too.

I unquestionably have continually buried my canines. 2 are interior the puppy cemetary in little doggie caskets with headstones. one million, which became the 1st canines I had as a toddler that i in my view seen "my canines"...is buried in my outdoor. I even have been given a casket for him yet basically felt like i needed him to be closer. Everytime i pass interior the back backyard, i think of roughly how lots I omit my chum. in my view, i think of photos of your puppy, alive and happy, are a miles extra useful reminder than a jar full of ashes.
