Take out the bottled light of the elf-star and shine it on the spider!
And if that doesn't work, put a hardback book on the spider and step on the book for about thirty seconds. If the spider is not on the floor, knock it to the floor with the book.

Tempt it with some curds. If that doesn't work just use the mustard gas.
It's said to be unlucky to kill spiders in your own home. Take him outside first.

Get a newspaper and wait until it crawls on it. Then run like crazy to the door and let it out of the house.

Put a glass over it, slide under a piece of card and remove it to a safe distance.
