Some people love the city and others are still confused about California. I spent several years working out in California (all over the state) and the only place I liked there was Monterey, but other than that...no desire to live in either place. Most of the time, home is where your family is.

They're both exciting places with lots to do. I love living in California, but someday I'd like to visit New York to see some of the places I've heard about.

I think that the movies have a lot to do with it. You see "exciting" , "chic people" and "adventure".
In reality, California is expensive, I personally do not like LA, NYC is just a big city and anything above Orange County is basically rural with the exception of Buffalo and Rochester. Rochester might have a lot to worry about being that Kodak and Xerox are not doing well. Buffalo's economy is also nothing to be exciting about.
I'm not sure if with Doctor House and The Sopranos New Jersey is now seen as exciting (certainly not from my window...).
My 2 cents.

Maybe because most movies take place in those places. I have a friend in NY, that was so amazed that I've been to Hollywood..and I didnt think that it was a big deal. She thought that I saw all of the movie stars! lol And I was so amazed that she went to the Statue of LIberty! I lived in CA my whole life, but my dream is to live in New York. The funny thing is that my mom grew up in NY but moved here when she married my dad! I wish they hadn't moved!!

with the aid of fact a lot of human beings do no longer basically like the city. would not rely what city that's. oftentimes people who like the exterior desire as low as a probability to do with a city. a lot of human beings in basic terms isn't bored interior the mountains while you should be. relatively plenty each and every thing in this question is your opinion and shared basically by technique of you. each and each individual could have their very own opinion. i in my opinion can't stand California, and that i finally end up spending far greater time there then a I care to. I in particular do no longer like it with the aid of human beings I run into there. The mid-west has a tendency to be plenty greater welcoming then the two of the coasts in my adventure. yet I admit that somebody else okay could have had distinctive studies.

The alternative is living in some state where everyone says "ya'll" and are still infatuated with Leonard Skynard. It's a joke people, relax.

I'd consider moving back to NY but I'd never live in California. Arizona is as far west as I'm going. [I live in Arizona.]
