it is a 94 chevy cav so they would have to lift the engine or drop the tranny

Call you local chevy dealer and a few local auto shops.Get the best price you can sence it will be for the same repair.Make sure you get a good warrenty for this repair.Because if not done right it could start to leak after the repair is done in a short time.Rear main seals can be a pain to install.

I wish I could remember who makes it, but there is some stuff you can pour into the oil to make the seals swell up a little bit and possibly seal the leak for a while.

It costs like $8.00 and it's in a gold can..????

ADDED:
You know what? It seems odd that it's leaking. The crank case is suposed to have a slight vacuum to it.
Your crank case breather filter and PCV might be plugged.
