I'd like to know who you guys think are the best baseball broadcasters currently in the business. Only the national ones (Fox, ESPN, TBS), since not everyone's had the chance to listen to a Vin Scully or Bob Uecker.

For play-by-play, I'd have to go with Jon Miller. Sure he goes off on tangents a lot, but he knows the game and has a good voice. Color guys...well, Morgan and McCarver both suck. I know he hasn't done much yet, but Tony Gwynn did some games for ESPN the last few years, and is going to call the NLCS later in the year. I remember he did a good job, I'd go with him.

Sounds like you answered your own question. With very good points mind you. I see it same as you. Vin Scully is the best in my opinion. But if you want to talk major networks only, john miller is about the only one i can stand. Joe Morgan is terrible.....mcCarver ehhhhhhhhh. I also like tony gwynn because he is 100 percent opposite of morgan. Morgan in his mind had done it all and done it better........gwynn is very modest and gives credit to the guy on the field or at the plate. miller and gwynn may not have the best voices and may not be the most exciting but they will call an accurate and clean game. Joe Buck will make sure you know what celebrity is at the game........lol

I like Joe Buck but with McCarver there you want to stab yourself with a pencil to the ear. I wish Fox would can him and hire Hayrold Renolyds. I miss him on baseball tonite, him and Kruk were great. Also I agree with Tony Gwynn he did do a good job I wish he would do games more offten. Also I heard Cal Ripken was gonna do games and have a postgame show simular to inside the NBA. I think that would be cool.

I'm not much of a fan of Miller and Morgan, the two of them together really bugs me. Always kissing the Giants' butts.

I actually like Josh Lewen. He started as a Rangers play by play, but has now moved into the Fox Saturdays too. I think he's very knowledgeable.

I was about to punch Eric Karros in the face on the Mets/Tigers game yesterday. Talk about anti-New York!

I agree with you Gwynn does a great color. But for me the best play by play guy is Joe Buck.

I'd go with Joe Miller, but I sure do love our NESN guys - Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo.
