let me let you in on a little secret hun, 22 year old men that try and date 16 year olds, only do that because women their own age won't have anything to do with their lousy, usually jobless asses.
Stick with guys your own age, k? You'll be glad you did.

Have you ever heard the term, "16 will get you 20"? A 22 year old "man" (not "boy") that dates a 16 year old "girl" (not "woman") is begging for trouble. It is called pedophilia. At least that is what the court calls it. It will get the "man" jail time, from 5 to 20 years depending on the state, jury and judge. You must understand the law is written to protect you. At 16, the law doesn't consider you capable of giving your informed consent on virtually anything.
If he is still available when you turn 18, then and only then does he have a green light.

I think that is too big of an age difference at this time in your life. At 16 you are very young, he might try to take advantage of you. PLUS it is probably illegal where you are. You can look up the laws online. But it is weird for me to tell you that this is a bad idea, because I am 21 and my boyfriend is 27. That is a 6 year difference. But I didn't meet my boyfriend until I was 19 and in college. I think you should stay away from this guy for now, until you are at least 18. If you still feel the same then go for it.

Ask yourself this? Why's a 22 year old guy looking to date a 16 year old. Cool from your side, but jail bait and not exactly the same as someone 18 and over from his. Unless the laws in your state allow such a thing, and he's into what 16 year girls are into. I know kind of preachy but it's been done before and usually doesn't work.

Kate, I'm sorry to say this, but in some states that could be illegal. You'd definitely want to look into that first. Then there are the moral implications, like why is a 22year old interested in you anyway. What are his intentions? Do your parents approve? I'm not saying that you guys don't have things in common, but do you really want to be involved with someone who has more in common with you than his peers. I'd say really sit and think about it. Because, honestly I'm sure there are boys your age that also handsome. Even though it's flattering to be liked by an older guy, you really gotta be careful. Hope everything turns out okay.

What she said.
Anyone that much older than you is a pervert. When you get older, a five year difference is fine, but not at the age of 16...

I wouldn't go there. I have been there and it was one of the biggest mistakes ever. Now, if you were 18 and he was older--it wouldn't matter.
At 16 I was thinking of how mature I was and how we were on the same level...I was sooo wrong. Don't do it.

Leave him alone! He's a grown man and you're not on the same level. Furthermore, you'll be putting him at risk of going to jail. Just leave him alone!
