how do i change a rear main seal on a 94 chevy cavalier?

i heard it is hard and that is what the mechanic said was leaking oil and it is leaking pretty bad

Remove the engine, replace the seal, reinstall the engine.

Or remove the transmission.....

this seal is located in between the engine and transmission. Mechanic can disconnect transmission, and pull the engine out. OR drop the transmission only. For small car like this, my preference is to supprt the engine from the top and drop the transmission from the bottom.
