What state are you from? Do you think your state leans more conservative or more liberal, and do you like living there, or do you wish that it was a different way.

I'm currently living in Arkansas and the governor, the senators and all but one congressman are Democrats. The taxes are incredibly high, but so is poverty and poor education. Yes, we need a new direction, but the majority keeps voting for idiots. (BTW, I'm a contractor and it's a beautiful State and I enjoy it, but the politics are crazy.)

I live in New Jersey. The democratic party rules. We have the most corrupt government, running the largest deficit, the highest property taxes, income tax, sales tax and everything else you can possibly imagine.

About a decade ago, there was a rift in the republican party in NJ which had many moderate to liberal leaning members as well as the country club republicans who also tend to lean to the left.

The most of the conservative leaders left to form the Conservative party. They don't even exist as far as most people know and now there is no conservative influence to speak of in the NJ republican party. (Good example for all of you people who think third parties are a good idea.)

It is basically a one party system and it is running the state right into the ground.

NC. It's an old-fashioned southern state. The Democrats are frequently as conservative as the Republicans. We've had a lot of corruption come to the surface in the last year or so. I am impressed by how the judiciary (and, when necessary, the State AG's office) has handled it. The State Board of Elections hasn't been shy in recommending cases for prosecution either, which the DA has handled in a very even-handed manner.

The problem is that the people who have done the right thing are stronger than the institutions of government. When they move on, as they surely will, we must hope that they will be replaced by people of equal calibre. Either that or we have to limit the chance of corruption.

I'm from Taxachusetts. We have two of the most liberal Senators in the US, a liberal governor, and a liberal state Congress. It's horrible what these liberals do, with gay marriage, tax hikes, and they want to add TWO HOURS to the school day!!!! Without consulting teachers!!

NY. It is liberal around the city and Upstate NY is Republican. I love living here. I grew up in the most rural country and now live in the biggest city in the country. All within 4 hours of each other.

I live in Arizona and it's crazy. Libs and cons both are quite extreme here. We have a huge community of both mixed in together. I really don't like the politics here but I love the place. The local government here goes too far sometimes.

IL
No I am tired of the dead getting to vote.
Democrats whin about FL in 2000 election should come and to see how elections are stolen.

The mayor of Chicago can wipe out an airport in the middle of the night not a word.
During his election the districts who were against him suddenly didn't get the information where to vote.

Massachusetts, one party rule (Democrat). I like living here but when the Dems control everything, spending gets crazy. Mike Dukakis was the last time and he drove us to junk bond status. Everyone has forgotten that and now we're back to one party rule again. Now they're talking about taxing everything that moves.

I live in Illinois. Governor is Democrat. He is tax crazy! He won't even live in Springfield our capitol he stays in Chicago, so does all the monies. If it can be taxed he taxes it and then adds to it. We have the highest light bills in US I think. All due to him and his cronies he is paying back. Come and get him.
