Because they think they are SOOO much closer to God, they overrule everyone else. Unless you think like them, you are a lesser person. Uh, personally, I am not a follower of any of the current 'organized religions' for just that reason. I have my own beliefs based on what I have experienced and they can just SHOVE IT with their points of view. I'm glad they have them, but I don't want them. Good question!!!

I'm sorry that the Christians you know have left you with this impression of the rest of us. I agree with you that Jesus was a rebel and is probably appalled at what some churches and Christians have become. I do know that Jesus never changes and loves every single one of us....regardless. I don't think it's the majority of Christians who are hypocrites and judgemental. I don't base my beliefs on any person or how others act. I believe in God and Jesus His Son who love all of us unconditionally. Jesus was a humble man and that;s how his followers should be.

All twelve apostles denied Jesus --or they would have been crucified--- Maybe they are suppose to deny their leader... They say the 12 were suppose to be left to explain what they witnessed in JESUS... That may make sense ---Although they have almost a small percentage of testimony In the bible ( other than gospel stories)-- Most of their bible is AKA PAUL... Thats who they follow and most do not even know they are PAULINE CHRISTIANS>>>> Paul makes Christianity cosey and comfee--- All the magic necessary to accommodate -- all other majic... I don't think JESUS would care much for what Paul has done---- All pastors do in their worship centers do is TALK ABOUT PAUL _Not Jesus ----EXPECT MORE OF THE SAME

Christians aren't better than other religious people. It is the Christian God we believe to be better than any other "god".
If you believe something to be right, then things that contradict what you believe to be "right", you must believe they are "wrong". No matter what the subject.
If you don't believe anything is "right", then you have no beliefs at all.
Examples:
A person who believes evolution is "right", must believe the 6 days of creation described in the Bible is wrong.
A person who believes there is no God, must believe that all the people who say there is a God are wrong.
Everyone has a belief. Yes, everyone has some things they believe to be right, true, and correct. By accepting these things, these people automatically state that the things contrary to this view are not right, false and incorrect.
(The Christian belief should come from an examination and comparison to the Scriptures (Acts 17:11).)
Christians believe the God of the Bible is what he claims to be, tho only true and living God. This being said, we believe any other "god" is not-true and non-living. If we don't reject the opposite of our view, then we don't truly believe what we claim to affirm.

You seem to have all the answers, as far as Christianity goes. Like in all religions, there are some that practice closer to what the faith represents. Some Christians go to church, some don't. Some folks really know what humility means, others don't.

I am a Christian and I do not judge,do not push religion down anyone's throat, I'm a giver when someone needs a friend, I'm the person that buys a sandwich for a homeless person, the person that loans money knowing the person is lying but I know I did it out of the goodness of my heart.
All Chrisitans do NOT think they are better. A true Christian is the person that is aways around for you and will come to your aide and not ask questions or put guilt upon you

That is not a question that should be asked of any one group. All religious groups, or philosophical one at that, which purport to have ultimate answers share this characteristic of a special status, which then breeds a sense of the superior.
Take my own people. Jews have called themselves the "Chosen People" with the inside track to God for over 5000 years of our mythic history. This makes many communities of Jews feel that they are superior to others because they have special knowledge or insights over others.
However, this is not just a philo-religious phenomenon. It seems to me to be a core trait of the human species. We all have feelings of superiority for one thing or another and are comforted when we feel these things. It is a base psychological response. Our tendency to narcissism, love of self and the need to see ourselves as special, is a driving force of our psychology according to both Lacan/Freud and Jung. The trick, then, is to move beyond that narcissistic impulse.

I wish people would read the History books and understand that early Christians were actually a cult, pillaging through village to village, forcing their believes onto people or executing them if they refuse. Modern day Christians believe they are superior because its in their nature.

Everyone strives to feel superior to others, which is why there is racism, sexism, and all the other types of discrimination. If a Christian has nothing at all to make themselves feel worthwhile at least they know that they are going to Heaven and your poor pathetic soul is going to burn for an eternity.

What you speak of is a manifestation of self-righteousness. One does not have to be a Christian, or any faith as far as that goes, to be guilty of having a superiority complex. Its a matter of having an unhealthy ego.
