Democrats do to have a plan. Blame the president for everything that goes badly and take credit for everything that goes well.

Poor logic in the assumption inherent in the question.

The logic assumes that the democrats (congressmen) should have a plan for Iraq. That is not the case. The plan to win a war is vested in the President.

Congressional leader, Tom DeLay, made the following statement in opposing the continued funding of troops in Kosovo:

"I cannot support a failed foreign policy. History teaches us that it is often easier to make war than peace. This administration is just learning that lesson right now. The President began this mission with very vague objectives and lots of unanswered questions. A month later, these questions are still unanswered. There are no clarified rules of engagement. There is no timetable. There is no legitimate definition of victory. There is no contingency plan for mission creep. There is no clear funding program. There is no agenda to bolster our overextended military. There is no explanation defining what vital national interests are at stake. There was no strategic plan for war when the President started this thing, and there still is no plan today."

Tom Delay had no plan, and neither did the Republicans. The President has the responsibility of having a plan.

Republicans now complain the arguing that the war is wrong, and we should bring the troops home, is undemoctratic and antipatriotic. Quoting Tom DeLay again:

"You can support the troops but not the president."

The Democratic plan is essentially this: Get the troops out of Iraq. Whether we are there for a month, a year or ten years, there will be civil war when we leave. We cannot prevent it, we cannot stop it. NO side to the conflict wants us there.

The political system we tried to install has failed, its leaders safe only in the military compound known as the Green Zone.

There is no plan to win in Iraq, because there is no definition for winning! Bush has no exit plan, and the democrats do -- begin withdrawing the military troops now.

But, again,. it is the President's job to forge a foreign policy and a strategy. Where there is not such a strategy, it is appropriate to question the President and his advisors for their failure. This does not give them the opportunity to substitute their plan.

One more thing. There WAS a bi-partison report on the Iraq war and how to resolve the issue. The President rejected that plan, supported, not only by democrats, but by his own party.

That's typical in politics, yes.

But some people do have a plan. They want to withdraw from Iraq.

It doesn't sound unreasonable to me. It's not like we're fighting a war there, anyway. We've got our soldiers there playing police on patrol. That's not their job. Let the Iraqi's take responsibility for their own country.

Joe Biden, Democratic Senator, introduced a resoution in the Senate last Wednesday that outlines an alternative plan for Iraq. Your "democrats plan is to do nothing" is right-wing radio rhetoric, or in other words A BIG LIE.

Some things are hard to plan. You make decisions as you go because you don't know what is coming. You put good people in positions where they react the way you want them to. You hope for the best.

Bush has proven time and again he makes terrible decisions and puts incompetent people in important positions. He must go.

Let's say your son and a neighbor boy get into a fight. You run out and break it up, but the other boy sasses you, and you smack him on the back of head. He runs home crying, and sure enough, his dad marches over, gun in hand. You see him through the window, and you turn to your wife and ask, "Honey, will you answer the door?" It's not a perfect analogy, but George W. Bush wanted this war, he lied to get it, he crowed "Bring it on!" and he asked for more time, more time, more time. Now you curse the Democrats for not solving the problem he created? Answer the door yourself, sweetheart...
